Sloping Cottage Garden Winterbourne Down

The owners wanted a naturally shaped pond with a seating area nearby where they could enjoy the evening sunshine. Stone walls were used to retain the ground in this steeply slopping garden to allow the pond to be created. Pathways were widened to give better access and resurfaced with a fine gravel which is compacted to form a firm yet absorbent surface. An oak carport was designed to complement the old stone cottage and boundary walls. A water harvesting system was installed to collect the substantial rain water run-off from the existing garage and new carport.
